Vitamins are important to the health of a growing baby. They are also important to pregnant mothers because their bodies are going through so many changes. Our diets today are often deficient in key nutrients found in pre-natal vitamins that help a baby's development in the womb. One deficiency that has been found is the lack of enough folic acid, one of the B vitamins. If your diet is currently lacking in certain vitamins or minerals this can seriously affect the development of your unborn child. In this article I outline seven vital vitamins for pregnant women and explain why they are important. Rectifying vitamin deficiency can be done by modifying your diet and by taking pre-natal vitamin supplements. It is easiest for your body to absorb nutrients from foods, but since it can be difficult to take in enough of those key vitamins and minerals during pregnancy, most doctors recommend that you also take pre-natal supplements.

To make an alphabet scrapbook for a child, I suggest using an 8x8 album. My sister takes hundreds and hundreds of pictures of her daughter. I remember thinking “there she is with a banana”, and “there she is with an apple”, thus the idea of an alphabet scrapbook developed. I like stencils. I created all 26 letters using a stencil. I then mounted the letters on the opposite corners. For example, “A” was in the upper left corner, while “B” was in the upper right corner of the adjoining page. I’ve also seen alphabet scrapbooks with the letter centered on the top of each page. The option to put the letter in the bottom corners or centered on the bottom is also there. Or create your album mixing all of the above with the letters in various places throughout the album. Try putting the letter in the center of the page and then building your photos around the letter.

Every pregnant woman has an increased need for good nutritious food, but if you are pregnant with twins, it is even more important that you eat an adequate diet. But just what constitutes an appropriate prenatal diet when expecting twins? You actually need to consume quite a few calories. In fact... Doctors recommend about 2700-2800 calories a day for a mother that is pregnant with twins! Be aware that your age makes a difference in the nutrition you need, and this is even more true when you are pregnant. One special category of moms-to-be who need more nutrition than others are pregnant teenagers. Teens are still forming their own bones and other body parts. If you're not quite grown yourself and are expecting twins, make every effort to take care to get the best nutrition you can. I hope the above diet advice helps you if you are pregnant with twins. Please remember to see your doctor regularly, and try to eat as healthy as you can. |
